How are war memorials sustained by actors in local society? In order to answer this question, we must verify what kind of people are in charge of administration of the memorials, and how they do this. Although previous studies on actors for war memorials in local society have focused on their shared emotion for the dead, this study explores what each actor is interested in, and how they are involved in the administration of such memorials. Through a case study in Ibaraki Prefecture, this study clarifies that multiple activities of memorials by local organizations contain two aspects. Previous studies have mainly focused on ‘maintenance’ that actors try to preserve and keep in the existing state. In contrast, this study found another aspect, which can be called ‘management,’ whereby actors actively react on and deal with changes or problems according to the current situation. In addition, this study indicates that sometimes each local actors’ direction of ‘management’ competes with each other according to each one’s different interests.
"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"本論は、地域社会における戦死者慰霊施設を、地域の担い手の管理活動から捉える試みである。先行研究においては、管理主体は死者への思いをもった人々であるという観点から論じられてきたこともあり、地域の複数の管理主体が、地域的文脈の中でそれぞれいかなる固有の関心をもち、具体的にどのような管理活動を行っているかについては十分に検討されてこなかった。これに対して本論は、茨城県阿見町における予科練慰霊施設の事例研究を行い、特に自衛隊武器学校と婦人会という二つの地域の管理主体の関心と管理への関与を分析した。その結果、管理活動には、先行研究が主に論じてきた、現状を保持しようとする〈維持〉の側面だけではなく、慰霊施設をとりまく時代状況に応じて臨機応変に対応する〈経営〉の側面があることを示し、後者については、地域の諸主体ごとの関心の違いに応じて、その対応の仕方には競合する場合があることを明らかにした。
