<p>Venous leg ulcer due to chronic venous insufficiency is cause by venous hypertension of the leg. It is difficult to cure and easy to recurred. Basic treatment is compression therapy by elastic stocking and bandage. Reimbursement of compression therapy was initiated from April of 2020 in Japan. Investigation of venous and arterial insufficiency with venous duplex and ankle brachial pressure index is essential for diagnosis of venous leg ulcer. Mainstay of treatment is life style modification and compression therapy. Elastic stocking and bandage are used for treatment and prevention of recurrence with careful consideration of adherence. It is important for health care professional to learn how to choose and apply compression therapy with individualize manner for each patient.</p>
