<p>In this paper, a rotational input motion and a damping ratio was identified using MIEC method for reproducing observed horizontal acceleration response on buildings and the identification accuracy is investigated. The building was an elastic model and the horizontal input motion was assumed already-known. In conclusion, in the case of identifying only damping ratio, the reproducibility of the horizontal acceleration responses on a building was not well. On the other hand, in the case of identifying rotational input motion and damping ratio simultaneously, an acceleration response on a building and the identified input rotational motion and damping ratio were in good agreement with the correct values respectively.</p>
