We asked 21 women in their twenties to forties in Fukuoka Prefecture to select relevant intravenous solutions from 30 sample images presented in 3 different ways: <verbal instructions>, <text presentation>, and <text + image presentation>. We determined the accurate identification rate and the time required for identification, and compared these among the 3 presentation methods. The mean accurate identification rate was significantly lower for <verbal instructions> than for <text presentation> (p<0.01) and <text + image presentation> (p<0.05). The mean time required for identification was significantly shorter for <text + image presentation> than for <verbal instructions> and <text presentation> (p<0.001).
