Description

Molecular dynamics simulations of monotonic loading tests on copper single crystals in the [100] direction were performed to investigate the effect of different aspect ratios on mechanical properties. Tensile test simulations show that mechanical properties are enhanced when the length is kept constant and the width is varied, and are independent of aspect ratio when the length is varied and the width is kept constant. In the compressive test simulation, the mechanical properties decreased when the length was kept constant and the width was varied, and the same trend was observed in the tensile test simulation when the length was varied and the width was kept constant.
