Description

The Bong-po Marsh was the coastal peat land along the East Coast of Korean Peninsula. The undisturbed 5m long core was drilled at the center of the marsh, and 18 radiocarbon ages and 238 samples for diatoms and resting spores of Crysophyceae and Cheatoceros observation presumed paleo-environmental histories during 7700 years. A lagoon was became to be a shallow pond and swamp (Fen Marsh) since 7200 yBP. It was shifted into a peat bog (Rised Marsh) about 4200 yBP.
