説明

Two species of Chalicodoma (sensu MICHENER, 1965) and 15 species of Megachile are reported to occur in northern Japan (Hokkaido and Tohoku District). Out of the latter genus, 3 species are new to science and 5 species (with 3 new subspecies) are new to the fauna of Japan. A key is given to the species and a discussion is made on the pattern of distribution of Japanese Megachile. Six new taxa described in this paper are : Megachile sumizome, M. ainu, M. matsumurai, spp. n., M. remota sakagamii, M. willughbiella munakatai, M. lapponica ishikawai, subspp. n. M. manago YASUMATSU is synonymized with M. kyotensis ALFKEN, and M. furukawai YASUMATSU is reduced to a subspecies of M. lagopoda (LINNAEUS).
