Abstract
Two mites, Varroa jacobsoni OUDEMANS (ectoparasite of Apis mellifera L.) and Brevipalpus russulus (BOISDUVAL) (pest of cactus), were redescribed and illustrated on the basis of Japanese specimens. V. jacobsoni was recorded from Cambodia for the first time. It was added that the honeybee tracheal mite Acarapis woodi (RENNIE) has not been found within Japan. Brevipalpus russulus was first recorded from Japan.
