Description

At present, Powered-wheelchair is only the mobility tool for severely disabled people, so their mobility is insufficient in Japan. The aim of our study is development of a vehicle, which improves their mobility. The main point is how to develop a new vehicle driven by Joystick. The vehicle is required 2 new functions : "drive with Joystick " and "being got their wheelchair in. while a disabled person riding on wheelchair". In this paper, at first, techniques to increase the mobility of disabled are explained. Next, on the basis of such techniques, how to improve a difficulty of driving with Joystick is introduced. Finally, the process of development of new concept vehicle and the results of evaluation are showed.
