Mechanical stirring in water and bulk oil flotation system was used as the washing method of extracted residue. The temperature of water showed a good effect at above 30℃. The oil contents of the residue decreased at pH<6.5 of water and increased at pH>6.5. When the residue was separated into froth and tailing by means of bulk oil flotation, the solvent, deposited sulfur and pyrite were concentrated in froth and the gangue in tailing. In this case the value of PH<7 showed a good separating effect. The mechanical stirring and super-sonic vibration method were used for purifying sulfur. Several surface active agents except triethanol-amine showed the same degree in purifying effect and minimum value of solvent content in sulfur was 0.24%, and the purifying effect decrease in acid solution and increased in basic solution. While the concentration of surface active agent and operating time related to the purifying effect, temperature had little influence and the minimum value of solvent contents in sulfur was 0.1% in the case of super-sonic vibration. The super-sonic vibration in 0.5% soap solution for 10 minutes showed the best result in these experiments.
