〈Abstract〉As teachers of information studies, we have conducted an investigation into the present situation regarding teachers of information studies in high schools. We researched the current problems that are required to be solved, and their expected outcomes for the future. We asked teachers who are teaching classes to fill in a questionnaire. From the result of this survey, we considered how we should act in the future, and what decisions we should make regarding strategy in response to the questionnaire’s answers. We did this because there is a possibility that programming would become a required subject in high schools, or even be assigned in the entrance examination. It is assumed therefore that the curriculum and teaching strategy for information as a high school subject would need to change to accommodate this decision. We considered the skills that will be required for teachers of information studies in the future, and also considered the required abilities of those who already or will have teaching licenses.
