THE FAMILY CURCULIONIDAE OF JAPAN. I. SUBFAMILY HYLOBXINAE

This is the first part of the revision of Japanese Curculionidae, treating thesubfamily Hylobiinae, which contain 19 genera and 43 species. Hylobius is defined for the Piceus-group (=HygomoZy~). Hylobitelus is adopted for the abietis-group as an indipendent genus. Pagiophloeus is treated also as a valid genus after the definition by Marshall (1948) and Aslam (1963). New taxa, recombinations and synonymies treated in this paper are as follows: Hylobitelus Reitter, 1923=Poiyaunbus K6no, 1934, syn. nov. Hylobiteelus haroldi (Faust, 1878), comb. nov.
