<jats:p>The replacement of PO<jats:sub>5/2</jats:sub> with WO<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> increased both proton mobility and thermal stability of proton conducting phosphate glass. The P–O–W linkages enhance the inter-phosphate chain proton migration and suppress viscous flow at elevated temperature.</jats:p>
