Research Abstract
The worldwide outbreak of novel coronavirus disease that occurred during the period of this study made it difficult to conduct field research. Therefore, we decided to analyze the data obtained from the previous research and to present published papers and oral presentations. In doing so, we decided not to limit the members to the original members, but to invite many researchers, mainly young researchers, to participate as research collaborators. We published a special issue on African food cultures in both Japanese and English journals, and organized two forums at academic conferences to present our research. In addition, we continued our workshops by changing face-to-face to online style, and conducted research presentations and discussions. Based on the network formed through the workshops, joint research project has started in FY2023 with the participation of many researchers, and we were able to build a foundation for further research development on African food cultures.
