Research Abstract

青枯病はナス科植物などに被害を与える細菌性病害で、レースと呼ばれる異なる宿主域を持つ系統が存在するが、その仕組みは未解明である。本研究では、青枯病菌の全ゲノム比較から、特定のタンパク質分泌機構の遺伝子が宿主域の違いに関与する可能性を発見した。そこで、この分泌機構の発現条件や分泌されるタンパク質、変異株の植物内動態を解析し、その機能を解明する。また、阻害物質の探索や進化解析を行い、病原性の理解を深め、新たな防除戦略の基盤を築くことを目指す。
