Research Abstract

Although the commonality of human mental functions has been clarified to a great extent through collaboration with related neuroscientific research, the neurobiological basis of individual differences, or "individuality," has not been fully elucidated. In this research project, researchers from the humanities and social sciences, biology, and science and engineering have come together to conduct interdisciplinary research aimed at a scientific understanding of "individuality". As international activities, in addition to sending young researchers abroad and inviting prominent foreign researchers, an international data-sharing platform based on various behavioral data including ultrasonic vocalizations of rodents was established.
