Research Abstract

The common situation of the terminal care in a marginal village is that people pass away at hospitals rather than at home. Under the severe living condition, people find it difficult to keep living in the area and pass away at home, despite the fact that they hope to stay in the area and die at home. As the depopulation and aging society grows, it is getting harder and harder to maintain the culture in which people help with each other and the culture of death in the area we conducted the survey. In the case of the terminal care of a marginal area in South Korea, We have reached a conclusion that it is essential to narrow the gap between the city and the countryside, and provide many different kinds of medical and social services.
