Research Abstract

本研究は、国内外各地で行うフィールドワーク（参与観察、インタビュー調査、資料収集等）をもとに、和紙植物「雁皮」の生態や植生、人間による採取や栽培、「雁皮紙」への加工と流通を、その歴史的変化にも留意しながら、民族誌（エスノグラフィ）として多面的に記述する。それを通じて、人間と植物、地域史と世界史との多様な関係を明らかにし、人間が様々な存在と調和的に生き続けていくための思想を探る。
