Research Abstract

加齢黄斑変性は、世界の主要な失明原因であり重篤な視力障害を引き起こす。現行の薬剤とは、線維瘢痕化への効果が不十分であること、国外で行われている抗体生成に伴う高いコストも課題となっている。精密高分子を用いてより正確にVEGFを阻害すると同時に、線維瘢痕化の促進因子であるペリオスチン阻害も実現できればこの課題を解決できる可能性がある。モデル動物としてレーザー誘導脈絡膜血管新生モデルがある。候補分子を眼内に注射し、経時的に新生血管や瘢痕組織の容積を定量化し、薬効評価を行うことで、眼科診療のアンメットニーズを克服する精密高分子医薬の創出を目指す。
