Research Abstract

癌治療において、転移・再発の原因となる癌幹細胞を排除することは、癌を根治するのに非常に重要である。しかし、一般的な化学療法及び放射線治療だけでは癌幹細胞を排除しきれないため、癌幹細胞を消滅させ転移・再発を防ぐ治療法を確立することが求められている。 我々は、抗寄生虫薬Ivermectinが、癌幹細胞の指標であるsphereの形成を抑制し、さらに細胞毒性が癌細胞自体よりもsphereに対して強いことを見出した。そこで本研究では、Ivermectinの癌幹細胞に対する詳しい作用機序を明らかにし、Ivermectin投与により癌幹細胞を消滅させる治療法を確立できるよう研究を進めていきたいと考えている。
