This paper searched for the contents of training education for nursery teachers from the concepts of life and culture by considering a famous Japanese philosopher, Prof. Kiyoshi Miki's works on the better life. It told us that the key idea for making quality of life was to enjoy the life with culture, play and nature.it also said that we needed to have the abilities of liberal arts to realize such life. From Miki's thought on the quality of life, the author pointed out the importance of the liberal arts education in the training for nursery teachers by using the picture books which showed plenty of important messages for the life with humanity. And also from the viewpoints of 21st life and culture, it might be needs to have a sense of wonder for nature in the children's minds, so to select good picture books showing abundant examples of the charms of nature which is important for nursery teachers training programs. The conclusion was that we needed to think about the importance to select the best works of picture books and to use them for the liberal education for the nursery teachers to create their quality of life as well as to qualify the nursery school programs.
