2004年8月22日から27日まで国立京都国際会舘において開催された第16回国際解剖学会(16 th International Congress of the IFAA ; Anatomical Science 2004, From Gene to Body)に参加し,そこでなされた発表を通して,解剖学会の現状,解剖学の特殊性,解剖学教育などについて,自らの感想を交えて報告する。特に日本社会全体の高齢化に伴い急増するコメディカル教育機関において行われている解剖学教育,その中でも人体解剖学実習の意義と実習を実施する際の問題点について考察を加えた。今回の国際学会で表れてきたいくつか問題点の改善はコメディカルの教育機関の社会的な貢献により可能であるかもしれない。
In August 2004, the 16th International Congress of the IF A A (Anatomical Science 2004, From Gene to Body) was held at the Kyoto International Conference Hall. During the meeting, various presentations made an impression on me not only in my field of scientific interest, but also in reference to anatomical education, especially for co-medical students. In this report, I try to describe what "anatomy" is, what present anatomists are doing, and then report some current problems existing in the anatomical education for co-medical students partly based on the presentations in this meeting. Some of these problems appear to have been solved by the social contributions of the educational facilities for co-medical students.
