Description

A 41-year-old man was seen with chief complaints of hematuria and frequent urination. Cystoscopy disclosed tumor of the bladder. Partial cystectomy was chosen as a treatment. Pathohistological study proved malignant melanoma of the bladder, which was primary because of absence of the same lesion in any other parts of the body. Junctional change, which is pathognomonic histological finding in malignant melenoma, could not be proved because of epithelial ovulation due to calcium deposit on the tumor surface. The tumor recurred and was treated by transurethral resection. Some discussion was made on malignant melanoma of the bladder both primary as in this case and metastatic.
