Abstract
In 20 patients who underwent urological operations followed by an intravenous drip infusion of 0.3-0.4 µg/kg/min of PGF[2α], flatus as an initial sign of bowel movement was observed in earlier time after operation as compared with that in control patients who received other drugs. The bowel movement effect in the lower abdominal incision group was more prominent as compared with that in the flank incision group. Diarrhea, abdominal distension and vomiting caused by the PGF[2α] infusion were observed in 6, 3 and 1 patients, respectively. These symptoms were not severe.
