昭和32年8月並びに12月に尼ヶ崎市内1ヶ所, 大阪市内5ヶ所, 豊中市内1ヶ所, 合計7ヶ所の地点において4種類の被服材料を用いて都市大気による被服材料の汚染並びに損傷を調査した。 / 1. PbO_2法による空気中SO_2平均濃度は何れの場所も冬は夏より大である。夏は尼ヶ崎市(工業地域)はSO_3として1.43mg/100cm^2/dayで第1位, これに対して豊中市(住宅地域)は0.23mg/100cm^2/dayで最下位, 前者の1/6に過ぎない。冬は北区(商業及び住宅地域)の1.18mg/100cm^2/day, 尼ヶ崎市の1.15mg/100cm^2/dayが上位で, 豊中市の0.33mg/100cm^2/dayが最下位である。……

Authors studied the soiling and deterioration of textile materials by urban atmosphere in Amagasaki City, Osaka City and Toyonaka City during the year 1957. The results were as follows. / 1. The concentrations of sulphur dioxide in atmosphere were determined by the lead peroxide method. In summer, the concentration of SO_2 expressed as SO_3mg/100cm^2/day was highest (1.43) in Amagasaki City (an industrial area) and lowest (0.23) in Toyonaka City (a residential area). In winter, they were respectively 1.18 in Kitaku, Osaka City (a commercial and residential area), 1.15 in Amagasaki City and lowest (0.33) in Toyonaka City. / 2. As the test pieces, cotton, silk, acetate and nylon clothes were selected and placed in the lonvers in open air. The amounts of contaminant adhered or absorbed on the test pieces were greater in winter than in summer. / 3. Silk was easily polluted with the contaminant composed of CI, SO_3, cotton with the contaminant composed of NH_3, SO_3 and KMnO_4, acetate with the contaminant composed of KMnO_4. Nylon was least polluted. / 4. Degrees of soiling of test pieces computed from optical reflective index were greater in winter than in summer. The mean value was 20.93% in summer and 32.00% in winter. The degrees of soiling of test pieces placed in Toyonaka City was the least among them.
