Abstract

Chromis analis (Cuvier in Cuvier & Valenciennes，1830) and C. albicauda Allen & Erdmann，2009 (Perciformes: Pomacentridae) were confirmed to be distributed in Japanese waters on the basis of collected specimens and underwater photographs. Morphological comparisons of these two species were made, with assessments of standard Japanese names for the two."Himawari-suzumedai"is herein proposed for C. analis as the standard Japanese name.
