Nine–elements (Ca, Na, Mn, Mg, Sr, Ba, K, Fe, Cu) in the shell of Akoya–gai were detected by ICP–AES. The ICP–AES signals for these elements were highly suppressed or increased by large amounts of calcium ions. Therefore, shell samples were dissolved in inorganic acids and filtered, then determination of these elements in the sample solution was performed by ICP–AES using a standard addition extrapolated method.
