[要旨] 近畿大学生物理工学部の英語教育では、プレイスメントテストおよびプレイスメントテストを兼ねた実カテストとしてG-TELP を実施している。本研究の目的は、客観テストを用いて学生の成績と履修科目の実態を把握し、今後の英語カリキュラムの開発と発展に向けての検証の一端とすることである。本稿では、平成24 (2012年)度入学生の 1年次と3年次の成績を比較し、 G-TELP3の点数差が大きいグループと小さいグループを対象に、それらの学生の履修科目を用いて分析した。その結果、「英語演習」「オーラルイングリッシュ」および「TOEIC」「英語特別演習」科目を履修選択した者には平均値に差がない可能性が高かった。また、1年生次と3年生次の点数の伸び方が大きい学生は「総合英語」を履修している傾向にあり、伸び方が小さい学生が「英語プレゼンテーション」を受講している傾向があるととが分かった。 [Abstract] Kindai University, Faculty of Biology-Oriented Science and Technology conducts placement tests using the G-TELP test. The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference in scores over a three-year period due to increased English ability and to see their relation with the English courses that students had taken. We examined tests given in the first year and the third year of the program. The results show that the average G-TELP score of those students who attended 'Basic English', 'Oral Skills (English)', 'TOEIC', and 'Language seminar (English)' did not change significantly. However, students who attended 'Essential English' and those who attended 'English Presentation' had a significant difference in their scores, the former a strong increase, and the latter a considerable increase. The authors hope to utilize the results for curriculum development for English Education for the faculty in the future.
