This paper postulates the possibility that a logical relation generally known as biconditional is in operation in the comprehension process as a type of schematic knowledge to be imposed on the text information. The schematic knowledge is referred to as the biconditional frame, which is described as a logical relation that reflects the communicative intention of the writer to share a norm with the reader. The comprehension process is interpreted as a type of evaluation process in which the reader specifies the slots of the schema with appropriate propositions directly retrieved or inferred from the text and awards them some status and value.
