Description
論文(Article)
This paper aims to clarify how the Eizon Order prevailed in the Kii province, present day Wakayama prefecture in Japan in the Middle Ages. At that time in the Kii province, there were 11 direct branch temples of the Saidaiji temple in Nara, which was the headquarters of the Eizon order. In the present day, except for the Gokokuji temple, they are no more of the direct branch temples of the Saidaiji temple in existence. In this paper, the author focused on how those 11 temples were restored and what role they played.
