旧約聖書における障害者に関する箇所は,障害者を護る表現もある一方で,差別的表現もあり,様々である。障害者を護る表現については,申命記とレビ記の箇所,また,差別的表現については,サムエル記,レビ記,マラキ書の箇所を取り上げて検討している。それらに対し,時代背景を踏まえた解釈をすることによって当時の障害者の置かれていた状況をより明らかにしている。
