An analysis of Chinese learners' use of "nanka"

日本人に多く使われている曖昧表現は、中国人学習者にとっては習得しにくい表現である。日本語 の曖昧表現「なんか」に対して、中国人学習者はどのように理解し、使っているのかを明らかにする ため、本論文はコーパス調査とアンケート調査を行った。調査により、中国人学習者の「なんか」の 使用と日本語母語話者の使用と大きな差があることが分かった。また、「なんか」の各用法・機能か ら中国人学習者の認識様態と使用状況を詳しく分析してみると、中国語の「什麼」に対応できる代名 詞の「なんか」の産出は学習者にとってはむずかしくないが、中国語の発話習慣であまり使われてい ない副助詞と前置きの「なんか」は学習者に口癖として使われたり、「あのう」のようなフィラー表 現として認識され使われたりしていることも明らかになった。

For Chinese learners, it is difficult to acquire the ambiguous expression which is frequently used by Japanese. In order to verify how the Chinese learners comprehend and use these expressions, the paper takes example of “nanka” and conducts an investigation on database and questionnaire. The result suggests that Chinese learners use the expression “nanka” quiet differently from native Japanese. An detailed analysis of every usage of “nanka” reveals the discovery: There’s a Chinese equivalent,“什麼”, of “nanka” when it is used as pronouns. Therefore, Chinese learners have no difficulty in using “nanka” as pronouns. However, when “nanka” is used as adverbial particles and introductory remarks, there’s no such equivalent in Chinese. As a result, Chinese learners can’t understand it properly and they use these “nanka”expressions as pet phrases or fillers.
