Description

Fundamental studies on Dense-Medium Jigging were made on the artificially mixed sample which consisted of Itsudan coal from Okinoyama and limestone. The jig was a laboratory Baum jig having screen area of 144cm^2. The noticeable points which were obtained by Dense-Medium Jigging were as follows : (1) The capacity of jig increased with specific gravity of medium. For instance, when the medium specific gravity was 1.17,feed of jig could be increased about 3 times the feed of normal water jig.(2) It was noticed that, when the medium specific gravity of jig was increased, water consumption of jig decreased considerably.
