通常の授業を補助するためのシステムとして,オープンソースのe-learningシステムMoodleを用いた教育支援システムを構築した。授業の資料や小テストなどを掲載した授業コースサイトを作成し,学生の学習に役立てることができた。オープンソースのソフトを用いれば,このようなサイトを経済的な負担もなく,個人あるいは研究室レベルで簡単に構築できる。大規模なe-learningシステムの導入の失敗を避けるためには,まずはMoodleのような優れたフリーソフトで試験サイトを立ち上げるのが望ましいと思われる。

We built an e-learning Web site using the open source software called Moodle. We made some e-learning courses that contained teaching materials, mini test and discussion forum. Simple mini test which was scored automatically by the system could be used whether or not the students exactly understood what the professor said. Students said that the time series learning materials which uploaded continuously were very useful for the review after school hours. The functions of Moodle were sufficient for our educational use. And the economical merit was extremely great. In general, the e-learning software is very expensive. So, to avoid the failure to build a large e-learning Web site, we recommend that they should build a pilot site using useful open source software like Moodle.
