抄録

At the Institute for Cultural Interaction Studies, Kansai University, there is an ongoing project for the creation of a database/archive for Chinese language related documents by multiple groups in which this author is involved. This essay introduces the process and methodology for the creation of digital images of documents as well as the creation of a database/archive. It also investigates recent problems with the creation of databases, the collection of documentary materials on modern China, and the need to consider other issues outside of the creation of a database.
