The Existenz-philosopher Karl Jaspers, who criticizes Revealed religion, believes that Christian understanding of revelation is too specific. Therefore, he always reminds others of his identity as a philosopher as if he wants to make a clean break with Theology. Jaspers uses "existence" (Existenz) instead of Christian "soul" (Seele), "transcendence" (Transzendenz) instead of Christian "God" (Gott), in order to illustrate that philosophy and Christian theology are different. On this basis, "Philosophical belief" (philosophischer Glaube) emphasized by Jaspers is the pursuit of transcendent existence. By studying Buddhism (Buddha and Nāgārjuna) , Jaspers seems to find the rational belief he has pursued-Buddhism. This paper explores the relationship between Jaspers's philosophy and Buddhism and believes that the research on "Buddha" and "Nāgārjuna" of Jaspers, who is an existential philosopher, is actually the interpretation of his own existential philosophy. Conversely, Buddhist thought must have enriched and deepened Jaspers's understanding of basic concepts, such as "Encompassing", "Being" and so on.
