高齢化が急速に進むわが国において認知症高齢者の介護は大きな問題となりつつある。　本研究の目的は、認知症高齢者を介護する職員が体験していることを認知症高齢者と介護職員の相互作用の視点を持って明らかにし、介護の質向上と職員のメンタルヘルス向上に寄与しようとするものであり、本稿は、質的研究法を用いて、介護職員の体験をインタビューによって引き出し、参与観察結果を加えて分析、関連する概念を構造モデル化する探索的研究プロセスに検討を加えた報告である。　結果として、データ収集方法としてのインタビューは有用であり、データをより厚みのあるものにするには、参与観察が重要であった。またインタビューガイドとして、インタビューイの記述はメモ程度のものであってもデータから研究者の恣意を排除すると考えられ、インタビューにおいてラダリングを用いることが職員の介護体験構造を導き出す手助けになることが示唆された。分析については、分析ワークシートを用いることで分析の過程を可視化することができ、カテゴリー・サブカテゴリー・概念の構造を俯瞰でき、構造モデル図構築が容易となった。しかし、調査対象によってデータ収集方法の再検討が必要になると予測されたこと、など検討課題も残された。

Providing care for the demented elderly is a serious problem in Japan, where the population is aging rapidly. The purpose of this research is that experiences of care workers for elderly people with dementia are investigated from the perspective of care worker's interactions with users, in order to improve the quality of care and the mental health of the staff. In this research, Interviews are inquiring about work experiences were conducted with care workers, qualitative analysis is conducted on data from participant observation. Then a structural model was developed. This report examines these exploratory data collection, analysis and structural modeling. Results indicated that interviews were useful as data collection and participant observation was important in order to enrich the data. Addition to that description of interviewee eliminate arbitrariness of researcher and using "Laddering method" helped developing structural model of the experiences of care stuff. Usage of worksheet made visualize process of analysis and also made it easy to construct model due to grasp the structural relation among category, sub-category and concept. However it was predicted that it is necessary to restudy method of data collection.
