Since 2016, Professor Bambang Rudyant and his research team members of Wako University, Professor Iwayuki Suzuki, Professor Iwao Kato, Dr Yoko Takafuji and Dr Shintaro Kato, have conducted the disasterprevention education at twelve local elementary schools in Nias Island, Indonesia. This international cooperation project has been supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA, Indonesian local public sectors and International NGOs. The survey to check the effects of the educational project, mentioned above, showed the effectiveness of disaster-prevention education for all items. For example, all children who participated in the disaster education have begun to perceive the characteristics around their homes and understood what kind of disaster could be happened. Disaster drills were also conducted at all elementary schools participating in the project. This paper compares the first survey conducted just before the project began in 2016 and the second survey in 2017, to study the result of project.
