Abstract
Stoichiometric SmBa_2Cu_3O_<7-d> samples were prepared by a solid-state reaction method and showed peak effecs in their J_c-H characteristics. The oxygen contents of samples were determined by a coulometric titration method. A sample annealed at 350℃ for 40 hours has the highest peak effect in J_c. The oxygen content of the sample was 6.84,which was the lowest of the samples. The tetragonal phase in the orthorhombic phase was observed in the sample which had the most significant peak effect by TEM observation. On the other hand, the samples annealed for longer times had weaker peak effect. As results of microscopic observation and the TEM observation, a oxygen deficiency was considered to work as pinning centers at 77K and at around 1T to exhibit the peak effect.
