Abstract

The purpose of this paper is analyzing the Aum Shinrikyo Case with special reference to eschatological prophecy, mind control and obedience to authority. First, I refer to the consideration of cult. Second, I analyze the theory of eschatological prophecy. Third, I analyze the theory of mind control and obedience to authority. Fourth, I refer to the eschatological prophecy of Aum Shinrikyo. I conclude by saying that the social psychological study is indispensable to analyze the Aum Shinrikyo Case.
