Description
The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between occurrences of anger derived from Expression of Negative Feelings from friends and some personalities, such as aggression, narcissistic amae, and self-acceptance. The participants were 121 university students, 59 male and 62 female. Factor analysis on Expression of Negative Feelings was conducted and two factors, intentional inflicted harm and expressing unpleasantness were identified. The results of the comparison indicated that when intentional inflicted harm and expressing unpleasantness were applied to the participants, those participants rated high in need for concerned attention felt angry significantly more than those rated low. It was deduced that those rated high in need for concerned attention felt angry regardless of the existence of intent to harm. When expressing unpleasantness was applied to the participants, those participants rated high in "hostility" felt angry significantly more than those rated low. The results also indicated hat there was similar tendency in "unreasonable expectation to be tolerated"versus expressing unpleasantness.
