The purpose of this study was to investigate the experience of anger in university students and its deviancy of norm, as well as, the relation between the feeling of anger, the deviancy of norm, and the anger expression styles. This study also examined the effect of the participants’ closeness to the stimulant and the third party, if one existed, on the anger expression styles. The participants were 112 university students, 61 male and 51 female. The result of the classification showed the stimulant evoking the greatest anger feeling was “attitude and behavior” followed by “slander.” Overall, the mean score of each anger expression style was low. However, the tendency to use the “sarcastic” expression style was found when the participants perceived stimulants with high deviancy of “ social regulation” and“ attention toward oneself.” The study also found that the female participants tended to feel strong anger when the stimulants and the third parties were not close to them. Moreover, both male and female participants tended to use“ ignore” style when the stimulants were not close to them, and use“ indirect” style when the third parties were close to them.
