768 名の高校生を対象に、学校や家庭で享受した性教育と性に関する認識について実態を把握し、今後の性教育への取り組みについて明らかにすることを目的に質問紙調査を実施した。調査結果から以下のことがわかった。①学校での性教育は男女の性に関する生物的側面からの項目が多く取り組まれ享受率は高く、人間関係における性への取り組みは低かった。②家庭での性教育の享受率は低く、取り組みへの啓発が必要である。③保健師に対して性教育に関する活動を期待していた。④性感染症や避妊の具体的方法に関するスキル、男女の人間関係等の「出前性教育」を、学校、家庭、保健所、関連機関等が連携を図り強化していく必要性がある。

A questionnaire survey of 768 high school students regarding their sexual awareness and the sex education provided at home and school was conducted to elucidate the challenges for the future sex education. It produced the following results. 1) The sex education at school, mainly on biological differences of men and women, was widely conducted and enjoyed, whereas fewer efforts were made to teach facts of life in the context of human relationship. 2) The sex education was not much offered at home; an action must be taken to disseminate its necessity. 3) Students expected public health nurses for their initiatives on sex education. 4) Schools, homes, public health centers, and other relevant organizations must reinforce their cooperation to coordinate “visiting sex education” that covers issues such as sexually transmitted diseases, methods of contraception, and man-woman relationship.
