The author aimed to declare the young women's behavior at buying jeans and to declare the effects of putting on jeans in connection with their consciouness to their own figures. This study contained two methods. One was the questionnaire to 202 female students and another was the experiment that four subjects whose physical types were various put on jeans. Two jeans with different crotch measurements were used in this experiment as each inside leg measurement was being changed to four levels. Which level seemed to be longer at legs and larger at hips on photographs were evaluated by fortyfive students. Main results were as follows. 1) Female students wanted to show their inferior body parts better. They strongly wanted regardless to their figures that their legs seemed to be long and slender by putting on jeans. 2) One female subject was used for the primary experiment. The longer the inside leg measurement of jeans, the longer her legs seemed. The shorter the crotch measurement of jeans, the larger her hip seemed. 3) Although almost same results were obtained in the following main experiment in which four subjects were used, one of four subjects who had the longest and slenderest legs and the smallest hips gained the different evaluation from others. It seems that this result reflected the yearning of female students for her because her figure was ideal for them.
