Abstract

With power source control, the launch timing was fitted with both stroke ends of the head swing of the table tennis ball launch machine whose launch was not synchronized with the swing. For the purpose, 3 optical sensors were mounted with the circuit on a small-sized printed circuit board, and this was attached on the machine with pieces of double-faced adhesive tape. The sequence was as follows. When one of the two photointer-rupters detects an end of the swing stroke, the power of swing motor is switched off until a ball is launched. And when the 3rd photointerrupter detects the launch, the power is supplied again. By this control, the machine became able to be used by 2 players at the same time. Besides this improvement, a ball supply speed and launch speed control circuit by PWM was developed and mounted on a small printed circuit board and this was attached on the machine together with a small switching power supply equipment. In result, the table tennis ball launch machine which was small, light, and cheap became convenient to the use during a class.
