抄録
The River Laws of 1997 have been revised. This includes an update on the formulation process for river development to include content that "reflects the views of residents and users." However, few residents or users have participated in meetings addressing river development. In this study, we investigated resident and river user awareness by administering a questionnaire. Additionally, the status of vegetation overgrowth was digitized to calculate its hydraulic effect on flood discharge. Herein we analyze the discharge capacity given the vegetation's present status and project discharge capacity should trees be cleared.
