Since about 1960, new ideas, called "New Science", which had surpussed conventional ideas, learnings and cultures, have been born in the West coast of U. S. A. In several papers, transpersonal therapy which is one of these ideas, is reviewed about its surbey and theme. Historical review of transersonal therapy is outlined in this first paper. In California, personalism in America has encountered Eastern idears. Californians united humanistic psychology of A. H. Maslow with Analitical psychology of C. G. Jung. And "human potential movement" in california has developed to transpersonal therapy. Next I look at the definition of transpersonal therapy and the attitudes of transpersonal therapist. I introduse my experience of self transendance as one of quality of transpersonal therapist.
