Description

The present study designed to investigate similarities and differences in physical education and sport between Japan and New Zealand. They are both island countries and their sosieties had been isolated other societies. By comparing both cultures from the aspect of history of physical education and sport, this study was aimed to find out the characteristics of the insularity in physical education and sport and how they were different from those of continental countrise and consider the current problems of them in the intrenational society. \n　我が国とニュージーランド(以下NZ)の地理的・自然環境が島国であるという共通点がある。 　そこで,何か離島文化の特色とでも云うものが体育・スポーツのなかにもあるのではなかろうか,そして其のなかに大陸では見られない特色をみい出すことが,出来るのではないかという素朴な疑問と現状の世界的な傾向としての国際化という事象を踏まえて,比較体育的・体育史的な立場から考察をしてみることにした。
