Hawaii is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, which makes it a tsunami stronghold. Although six years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake, the next earthquake tsunami is in no circumstance to happen anytime. In Japan with a lot of sightseeing spots on the coast, we need to think about what is necessary to survive the tsunami disaster and to recover quickly. This report is a field survey conducted in Hawaii, PTWC and Pacific Tsunami Museum in Hilo, to learn its measures. Progress in science on tsunami prediction and policies on evacuation and education and thoroughness of residents are necessary.
