This study aims to show how English instruction based on “embodiment” has an effect on the English learning of university students. It is shown that the approach based on embodiment gives a new insight into university English education, where the analytical approach has been mainly taken. It is suggested that the holistic approach could be useful for university students, while the analytical approach is more efficient in understanding grammar. Moreover, it will be claimed that the cognitive viewpoint of learning is useful not only in the English education of elementary, junior high and high schools but also in university English education.
